The apartment in Hollendergata is located in a late 19th-century building in central Oslo. When the project began, few original details remained, and the interior had lost much of its period character.

Rather than reconstructing something that no longer existed, the rehabilitation worked through analogy. The new interior was developed from the proportions of the rooms, the hierarchy of spaces and the original relationship between street-facing representative rooms and private rooms towards the courtyard.

The plan was adapted to contemporary life by relocating the kitchen to a more central and social position. The result is a new interior with historical resonance: not a replica, but a contemporary home shaped by the apartment’s original spatial logic.
